The Super Sativa Seed Club (SSSC) are glad to be back. We started out in the 1980’s selling the very best cannabis seeds to the first generation of home growers. In those days our focus may have been sativa genetics, but these days our only focus is on providing elite cannabis genetics. That can mean indica, sativa or hybrid genetics. We are not like a typical seed company, we produce limited quantities of ‘breeders seeds’ and to begin with we only offer regular seeds. The breeding is done by our small team of highly experienced breeders using genetics which we have collected over several decades.
Super Sativa Seed Club. The early years.
The SSSC began breeding and selling cannabis seeds back in the 1980’s and are listed as one of the High Times Esteemed Pioneers Emeritus companies. This acknowledgement refers to the early pioneer breeding from the SSSC which produced some of the best early cannabis seeds for the first home growers. The reputation of the SSSC in the early days was based purely on the quality of the breeding, this ‘quality first’ approach is still the foundation of SSSC today.
The Super Sativa Seed Club began life in 1985, founded by Karel Schelfhout in Amsterdam.
Karel worked on developing advanced indoor growing techniques, and became an authority on elite genetics, breeding and cultivation. In the 1990’s the Amsterdam Coffee shop scene exploded into life with a high demand for the best quality cannabis strains. This kept Karel busy for many years and allowed him to collect some great genetics. Then as the Social Clubs of Barcelona expanded the SSSC created a Catalan base to allow them to further select and refine the best cannabis genetics which are flooding into Spain from many of the best breeders, including the USA genetics.

Karel is joined by his son Kees, a skilled and experienced breeder with plenty of contacts and connections around the world of elite breeding. These days the SSSC have some of the best cannabis genetics and are keen to make sure that these genetics can be produced for those that demand the very best craft cannabis seeds produced by artisan breeders for the discerning grower. These seeds are currently only sold directly from our website, not through seed distributors yet. And the seeds are only available in limited quantities as regular seeds. Because quality is all-important to our club, the SSSC will only release seeds in four initial varieties. These are:
Kees' Old School Haze. This is true Haze which takes 12-13 weeks to fully bloom and ripen. You can expect a fast growing, stretchy plant which will want to fit your tent. It’s a variety which suits the more experienced grower who can keep stable grow room conditions. The 12-13 week bloom time produces connoisseur quality Haze buds which will really hit home hard. Harvests are well above average.
Karel's Haze. With around 30% indica genetics, this is a top strength variety which blooms in 8-9 weeks producing medium/large plants. She is one of our varieties which is straight forward and relatively easy to grow. Genetics come from our Old School Haze and Chem Dog OG Fire. It’s a deliciously potent smoke with heavy frost levels, lots of terpenes for a strong aroma and higher than average yields for concentrate/extraction fans.
Prima Hollandica. This is another pure sativa with a really special smoke. The genetics come from our Old School Haze which was crossed with our Super Secret Sativa. The plants grow large with blooms as long as your arm and heavy yields. Bloom takes 10-11 weeks, the buds have a strong trippy effect. This is another of our varieties selected for being a genuinely memorable smoke which you will want to grow again and again.
Frosty Friday. Made from M4 Creeper x Karel’s Haze, this is a creeper sativa with 30% indica in the buds and a 10 week bloom time. This unusual variety has extreme resin levels and really heavy yields, also suitable for extractions with high yields. The high creeps up on you and gives you that feel-good Friday afternoon feeling. Very strong and long lasting high and excellent for making the best hash.

We have been around much longer than most other seed companies. Our roots date back to the 1980’s. Since then we have been collecting the best genetics from Canada, Spain, USA, The Netherlands and beyond. We like to think that we have some of the finest cannabis genetics. We already have a wide network of cannabis breeders and geneticists, and we are proud of our old-school approach to our breeding. The breeding is based on a mix of our old school genetics from our gene bank which we combine that with the best of the new-world genetics. This definitely involves the best of the USA and Canadian genetics which have improved tremendously in the last few years as legal breeding has been complemented by some serious scientific effort.

The Super Sativa Seed Club is back, and the focus will be to slowly create a catalogue of the best best genetics for the connoisseur home grower. Our seeds suit the home grower looking for some unusual and special genetics rather than run-of-the mill genetics which can be found in many of the more common seedbanks. The boutique style production process for our seeds means that SSSC will never be the lowest cost seed supplier. Nor do we have a full collection of feminized photoperiod and autoflower seeds. Instead you can expect regular seeds which have been bred and produced the old fashioned way by skilled breeders taking personal care and attention over every step of the process.
